Note: Jo Daviess County's posted Filing Fees by Case Type effective October 1, 2025 list the Probate/Estate (PR) filing fee for Administration of Decedent's Estate (testate or intestate) at $356.00, with a $181.00 appearance/answer/response fee, estate claims at $0 (to $150), $25.00 ($150.01 to $500), $40.00 ($500.01 to $10,000), and $60.00 ($10,000.01 or more), letters of office at $2.00 each, each accounting other than a final account at $25.00, and no charge for filing a will alone. The decedent-estate total is the civil Schedule 2 case filing fee set by the county board under 705 ILCS 105/27.1b (probate cases are assigned to Schedule 2 by Illinois Supreme Court order M.R. 29741) plus the flat $100 guardianship and advocacy operations fee charged on decedent estate administration filings under 705 ILCS 105/27.3f.
