Note: The Kendall County Circuit Clerk Fee Schedule (revised 10-01-2025, published as the Filing Fees document on the circuit clerk pages at kendallcountyil.gov, accessed 2026-07-18) lists the new-case filing fee for Probate (PR) Administration of a Decedent's Estate at $406.00. The schedule also lists the probate appearance fee at $231.00 (no fee for an appearance filed for purposes of consent or by the executor, administrator, guardian, guardian ad litem, or special administrator), estate claim filing fees banded by claim amount ($25.00 to $60.00; claims under $150.00 are free), $2.00 per letter of office, and $25.00 for each accounting other than the final accounting. The base is the civil Schedule 2 case filing fee set by the county board under 705 ILCS 105/27.1b plus the flat $100 guardianship and advocacy operations fee charged on decedent estate administration filings under 705 ILCS 105/27.3f. The small estate affidavit (755 ILCS 5/25-1) is presented directly to banks and other asset holders, not filed with the court, so it has no court filing fee. Newspaper publication costs are paid directly to the newspaper. Verify the current amounts with the Kendall County Circuit Clerk before filing.
