Chester County grant-of-letters (probate) fees are graduated on the valuation of the gross estate: $125 ($0 to $10,000), $175 ($10,001 to $50,000), $225 ($50,001 to $100,000), $275 ($100,001 to $200,000), $325 ($200,001 to $300,000), $375 ($300,001 to $400,000), $425 ($400,001 to $500,000), rising to $675 ($900,001 to $1,000,000), plus $75 for each succeeding $100,000. A $41.25 JCS/ATJ/CJEA state fee and a $15 automation fee apply to first filings. A small estate affidavit is $50, and a short certificate is $10. Confirm current amounts on the county fee schedule.
