Rhode Island runs NO statewide probate case index. Because R.I. Gen. Laws § 8-9-9 puts jurisdiction in each of the 39 cities and towns, each municipal probate court keeps its own docket and there is no single portal to search them all. The Rhode Island Judiciary's public portal covers the Supreme, Superior, Family, District and Traffic courts and does NOT reach probate. East Providence is one of the few Rhode Island municipalities that publishes an online probate index: its Probate Court page links this SearchIQS instance as "Probate Records (searchable and printable)". Fetch note: searchiqs.com is HTTP/2-hostile. It returns 403 over HTTP/2 and 200 over HTTP/1.1 with a browser user-agent, so a single-strategy probe will wrongly report it dead. Treat it as a lookup surface only: it covers East Providence alone, it is not a complete or certified probate record, and it is not a substitute for calling the clerk.
