Case Search
Use the city or town case-search tool when you need live docket or estate-case status information. Search results may not include every probate record.
Rhode Island runs NO statewide probate case search: probate is municipal under § 8-9-9 and each of the 39 cities and towns keeps its own docket. Foster publishes no online probate index; its Probate Court page states in its own words that 'All Records are Public' and covers information on estates, changes of name, guardianships and wills for registry. The town's separate land-records portal indexes land evidence only, back to Book 63 and 1 December 1993. For a probate file, contact the Probate Clerk at (401) 392-9200, or use the Town Hall vault, which the town says is open to the public without appointment Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
