Washington runs a STATEWIDE case-search layer, not a per-county docket. dw.courts.wa.gov indexes cases from the municipal, district, superior and appellate courts of the whole state. TWO LIMITS THE SITE STATES ABOUT ITSELF, and both matter to an executor. First: "Some case information may not display correctly at this time, including dockets, judgments, or document links. Case status shown on this site may also be inaccurate. For complete and up to date records, please contact the court of record directly." So absence of a probate from this search is NOT evidence that no probate was opened. Second, and more useful: the site names a MORE CURRENT source for this county's superior court - the Odyssey Portal at https://odysseyportal.courts.wa.gov/odyportal, which it lists for 37 of the 39 Washington superior courts (every one except King and Pierce, which run their own systems). Neither site is a certified record; a certified copy comes from the county clerk.
