NEBRASKA'S STATEWIDE CASE SEARCH IS NOT FREE ONLINE, WHICH IS WORTH KNOWING BEFORE YOU CLICK. Trial court records live in the statewide JUSTICE case management system and cover criminal, civil, traffic, juvenile and probate cases in all 93 counties, including Garfield. A one-time search by party name costs $17 and returns up to 30 records, and the judiciary states plainly that a search returning no results still requires payment. Frequent users open a Nebraska.gov subscriber account at $100 a year, where general lists are free and viewing any case costs $2. THE FREE ROUTE IS IN PERSON: the judiciary says case information can be searched at no charge at any courthouse kiosk or law library, including the Nebraska State Library and the UNL and Creighton law libraries. There is a 24-hour lag before a new case appears and document images exist only for filings after April 16, 2008, so this is not a complete or certified record. The subscriber endpoints on www.nebraska.gov/justice answer HTTP 401 without an account and are deliberately not stored here.
