Arizona Probate Attorneys

Arizona does not require a personal representative to hire an attorney. Title 14 contains no counsel mandate, informal probate proceeds by application to the court registrar, and the Arizona Judicial Branch publishes statewide self-service probate forms for exactly this use.

Informal probate and the small-estate affidavit are the realistic do-it-yourself lanes, and the azcourts.gov self-service center supplies the forms. Formal or supervised proceedings, a contested will, or an insolvent estate are where counsel earns the fee.

Arizona has no statutory attorney-fee schedule for an ordinary estate; firms bill by the hour, a flat fee, or a percentage they set themselves. The $3,250 to $8,000 figure is a Settled Estate estimate built from a stated hours band and the state's average attorney hourly rate, not a quote; a contested estate or one with real property runs higher.
