Executrix
An older, feminine word for a female executor.
What Executrix means in an estate
Executrix historically referred to a woman named in a will to settle the estate, while executor referred to a man. Most courts and modern documents now use executor for everyone, or the gender-neutral personal representative. The role and duties are identical regardless of the label.
How this works in your state
The concept is national, but the forms, procedure names, thresholds, and filing practice vary by state. Open your state glossary and guides to see how executrix is handled where the estate is being settled.
